10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a multimedia franchise based on a series of superhero films produced by Marvel Studios. Since 2008, MCU has given audiences some of the best critically acclaimed films of the 2010s. Over these 13 years, fans have explored many characters played by some great Hollywood actresses and actors through these films. They still continue to do so in new Disney + series and movies.

MCU has become the largest movie franchise on the planet. He owes this success to all the actors and actresses who made fans fall in love with them. Marvel comics were written at a time when discrimination, maintaining stereotypes and marginalization were common. However, the writers made sure to make comics free of all these social ills. The characters in the comics came from all races, colors and ethnicities.

MCU has done its best to make its films with the same intention. The films include a variety of characters that fans love and admire. MCU explores a character in depth, unlike any other superhero movie that has come before them. In the early years, however, the MCU focused more on the Avengers and the characters associated with them. But the biggest problem has been the foreshadowing of female characters in recent years. It seems understandable given that there was only one woman in the OG Avengers. Due to this problem, many talented actresses were content with minor roles. This list is for all those great Hollywood actresses who deserved more screen time in the MCU.

10. NATALIE DORMER (LORRINA)

10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

Dormer is an amazing actress with great potential. She has won thousands of hearts with her skills in the popular Game of Thrones series. Although, her time in the MCU wasn’t as good as it was in GoT. Dormer appeared as an SSR office employee in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger in a 2-minute scene. So her return to the MCU seems unlikely.

However, Dormer’s potential can earn her a whole new MCU character. And the MCU has never been afraid to pay an actor back to pay him his due. And if Dormer’s time on GoT has proven anything, it’s that she’s equally good at positive and negative roles. So, if the Studios were to pay it back, this actor could get the place he deserves in the MCU.

9. GLENN CLOSE (NOVA PRIME)

Nova Corps was introduced as Xandar’s police and defense authority in GotG. Glenn Close was seen playing the leader of this space militia, Centurion Nova Prime. At first, it was considered the best role for a charming and confident actress like her. However, before having a chance to learn more about the character, the MCU decided to take him out in Avengers: Infinity War.

Thanos took out the Nova Corps to get the Power Stone from them. Glenn Close deserved a bigger role, but seeing his potential in GotG, Marvel may have something more up its sleeve. Captain Marvel / Carol Danvers allegedly worked with the Nova Corps, so Close could reprise his role in the next MCU film, The Marvels (2022).

8. REBECCA ROOM (MAYA HANSEN)

10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

Maya Hansen was introduced as one of Tony Stark’s friends. For most of the film, she was thought to be the bad guy, but apparently she was one of the many minions who worked for Aldrich Killian. She has been shown as an ambitious scientist who wants to do something good for people. But her revenge against Tony Stark changed her fate for the worse. The portrait of Rebecca Hall’s biochemist was flawless.

Unfortunately, her character was killed off too early in the franchise. Her abilities hers would help the Avengers in the future, but the MCU had different plans for her. While we may never see her again in the future, she did a great “almost villain” in the film.

7. MICHELLE PFEIFFER (JANET VAN-DYNE)

10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

Pfeiffer has been a fan favorite since her portrayal of the iconic Catwoman in 1992. And when her fans got the news of her casting in the MCU, they went crazy again. Pfeiffer was cast in the role of Janet Van Dyne, wife of Hank Pym and former and former Wasp. However, her role in her MCU did not do justice to her acting skills.

So far, he has enjoyed a total of 5 minutes of screen time in the MCU and his fans want more. Although, we may see her again in the MCU in the upcoming Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania next year.

6. JAMIE ALEXANDER (LADY SIF)

10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

Lady Sif was one of the most inconsistent characters in the MCU. She was introduced as an Asgardian warrior in 2011’s Thor, but she was absent from the sequels. Since then, Jamie Alexander has appeared as Lady in ABC Studios’ Agents of SHIELD. However, she only appeared in two episodes. Also, the show is not MCU canon. She returned to the MCU in the Disney + series, Loki, but again the role was too short. Hopefully Love and Thunder it will do justice to its potential.

5. LETITIA WRIGHT (SHURI)

10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

Shuri made her MCU debut with 2018’s Black Panther and quickly became a fan favorite. With T’Challa being the king and the royal Black Panther, the characters besides him are often foreshadowed. But his engineering skills and quirky returns from him didn’t allow us to ignore his presence. Even though she hasn’t unlocked her full potential yet. The upcoming film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever , will focus more on the supporting characters from the prequel. And it will be the perfect opportunity for Letitia Wright to shine on the big screen like Shuri.

4. LIV TYLER (BETTY ROSS)10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

Betty Ross was like a support system for Bruce Banner in the comics and 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. But she didn’t appear or even mentioned in the MCU until the third episode of Disney +’s What If…? Even now, her character has been voiced by another actress. Fans have even forgotten that The Incredible Hulk is also part of the continuity of the MCU.

Liv Tyler gave a stunning performance as Betty Ross and fans are still waiting for her return as Ross. And now that Mark Ruffalo is reprising his role as Bruce Banner in the MCU, we may see Betty return as her comedic love interest. Liv Tyler is a fantastic actress who deserves more screen time in the MCU.

3. LUPITA NYONG’O (NAKIA)

10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

Nakia was a strong character in the 2018 film. She was a spy, a warrior, and most importantly, the king’s love interest. But just like Shuri, her character didn’t get a lot of spotlight. She had to be an interesting character who was a warrior woman outside the Dora Milaje. And Lupita Nyong’o has outdone herself with this character. Her latest film set her as Wakanda’s head of international affairs, so we may finally see her on the pitch rather than in the stands. Lupita Nyong’o is an Academy Award winner and seeing her talents go to waste in the MCU will be terrifying.

2. ELIZABETH DEBICKI (AYESHA)

10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

GotG Vol. 2 was a roller coaster ride filled with action, humor and excitement. The film had two villains in store for the Guardians, but only one enjoyed the limelight. Ayesha was the leader of the Ruler who tried to kill the Guardians on several occasions but failed every time. Ayesha had to be a handsome, arrogant and gentlewoman character at the same time. And Elizabeth Debicki did the job as if she was born to play this character.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 Adam Warlock MCU

However, his character had very few scenes. But now that she will appear in the third episode, fans are thrilled that she is reprising this role perfectly. The post-credits scene from the previous film revealed that Ayesha was creating a new being that was to be the next step in evolution, the infamous Adam Warlock. So far, Ayesha and Adam have been set as the villains for the latest installment of the franchise.

1. LASHANA LYNCH (MARIA RAMBEAU)

10 great actresses who have had little space in the Marvel universe

Captain Marvel was the highest-grossing female superhero film. The film was so well set that it didn’t need a prominent male presence for its success. Instead, the film gave the main character a best friend who supported and loved her. Most of the fantastic scenes in the film featured her or her daughter. But what brought her to the top of the list is the mention of her in Disney +’s WandaVision (2021).

Captain Marvel Goose

The series revealed that she survived Thanos’ snap but died of natural causes. Unfortunately, her daughter Monica was not by her side when it happened. Also, apparently, she was also one of the founding members of SWORD. So, just as MCU was preparing her for the future, she was killed. However, the MCU may not waste Lashana’s talents on a dead character. They may still have plans for her in the next sequel, The Marvels. Maria was a great character and she doesn’t deserve an off-screen death.
