Does the red dot on the Apple Watch bother you? Here’s how to get rid of it

Ever since the introduction of the first generation iPod, Apple has absolutely crushed it with its new technology.

And while the company has received a lot of criticism for its business practices over the years, Apple needs to do something right – it’s currently valued at over $ 2.6 trillion. One of the most beautiful and brightest devices from the company is the Apple Watch. But many users are confused by the red dot on the product screen. So what does it mean?

What does the red dot on my Apple Watch mean?

If you’re using an Apple Watch, there’s a good chance you’ve paired it with an iPhone. Sure, there are ways to technically connect them to Android devices, but the limitations make it all a shame. It would be like connecting a pair of Google Pixel headphones to an iPhone. You could do it, but why?

Either way, if you’re trying to figure out what the heck the red dot on your Apple Watch is, it should be a familiar visual cue from your iPhone. That’s right – it just means you have notifications.

Because of the Apple Watch screen size, it’s not like they can put a bunch of red dots on their respective apps, so just one lets people know they have some messages they need to watch.

But if you’re the kind of person whose phone always explodes, this could get a little annoying. Sure, you know you have messages and you’ll reach them when you feel like it, although you can reply to emails, text messages and phone calls right from the watch.

How to check notifications from your Apple Watch.

Make sure the watch face is on and swipe down from that red dot. You can tap on individual notifications or scroll through them using the Apple Watch functional crown. You can dismiss the notification by swiping left and then tapping the “X” key, or you can just scroll all the way down and tap the “Ignore” button at the bottom of the watch screen.

If it seems like it takes a long time to clear all notifications on your Apple Watch this way, that’s because it is. Thankfully, with the debut of Apple Watch OS 7, users can get rid of all their notifications at once – just scroll to the top of the notification list and hit the “clear all” button.

Maybe you’re intentionally leaving some unread messages for later checkout because you have a work deadline that you need to meet before sending that quick text. In that case, your Apple Watch doesn’t need to tell you that you have a lot of messages waiting.

How to hide the red dot on my Apple Watch.

Hiding the notification symbol on your Apple Watch is no problem. All you have to do is open the Apple Watch application on your iPhone and then tap “Notifications”.

You will be presented with an option to turn the “Notification Indicator” on and off on your phone. After turning it off, you’ll never see that damn red dot again.
