If you want to change your Spotify password or if you want to reset your password because you have forgotten it, Spotify makes it easy. We will show you how to do this for your account.
To change or reset your password, you’ll use the Spotify website on your Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook, iPhone, iPad, or Android phone. The Spotify app itself does not offer the ability to change or reset the password.
How to change Spotify password
If you remember your current password, you can log into Spotify and change the password to anything of your choice. We have a guide detailing how to create a secure password if you want to verify it.
To get started, open a web browser on your device and launch the Spotify site. If you are not already logged in, log into your account and then log back into the Spotify site. This is because, once logged in, your browser takes you to the Spotify web player.
In the upper right corner of the Spotify site, click “Profile” and select “Account” from the menu.

On the right of the Spotify site, a “Change your password” section will appear. Here, click on the “Current Password” field and type in your current Spotify password.
Then, click on the “New password” field and type in the new password you wish to use. Click on the “Repeat new password” field and type the same password again.
Finally, at the bottom of the “Change your password” section, click on “Set new password”.
Spotify will display a “Password updated” message, confirming that the password has been successfully changed.
And that’s how you change the password for your Spotify account. You will now use this newly created password to log into Spotify on all your devices.
How to reset Spotify password
If you have forgotten your password, use Spotify’s password reset option. Send a password reset link to your email address, which you can use to choose a new password for your account.
To get started, first open a web browser on your computer and launch the Spotify site. In the upper right corner of the site, click “Sign in”.
On the login page that opens, just below the “Password” field, click on “Forgot Password”.
You will see a “Reset Password” page. Here, click on the “Email address or username” field and type in your Spotify username or the email address associated with your account.
Confirm the captcha, then under the captcha box, click “Submit”.
Open your email account inbox and search for an email from Spotify. Log in to this email and click on the “Reset password” link in it.
The link will take you to Spotify’s “Reset Password” page. On this page, click on the “New password” field and type in a new password for your account. Click on the “Repeat new password” field and type the same password again.
Confirm the captcha and then click “Submit”.
You will see a “Password updated” message on the screen, confirming that your new password has been successfully applied to your account.
Use the password you just set to log into Spotify on both desktop and mobile devices.
Do you find it difficult to remember passwords? If so, consider using a password manager. It will store all your passwords and retrieve them for you when you need them.
