How to change the cover of a Spotify playlist

Creating custom playlists is one of the main benefits of a Spotify Premium subscription. Whether you’re curating a “Strictly Beyonce” playlist for your weekly cleanathon or a fitness soundtrack to help you break a sweat, Spotify lets you customize your playlists based on you, your event, and your mood.

For the playlist cover, you may have noticed that Spotify creates a collage using album art from some of the songs in your playlist. If you’re looking to edit or customize a playlist cover, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s how it’s done:

How to change the image of a Spotify playlist on an iPhone

By default, Spotify uses the album art of the first four songs in the playlist to create the playlist cover collage. To change it, you can rearrange the order of the songs in your playlist or upload or take a new photo.

1. Open the Spotify app . Tap La your library and select a playlist you created.

2. Touch the three points icon above the song list.

4. To reorder the songs in the playlist, touch and hold the three horizontal bars next to a song, then drag your finger up or down. Take your finger off the screen to drag a song to the new location. When you’re happy with the order, tap Save .

5. To upload a custom graphic or photo, tap Change image under the current cover. Touch Choose from the library or Take a picture . For the library option, tap to select a photo from your iPhone’s picture library, then You choose so Save .

How to change the image of a Spotify playlist on an Android

Previously, Android users could only upload custom cover art to Spotify’s desktop site, but that’s no longer the case. Similar to the iPhone app, Android users can rearrange playlist songs to change cover art or upload a photo from their device.

1. Open the Spotify app . Tap La your library and select a playlist you created.

2. Touch the three points icon above the song list.

3. Touch Edit playlist .

4. To reorder the songs in the playlist, touch and hold the three horizontal bars next to a song, then drag your finger up or down. Take your finger off the screen to drag a song to the new location. When you’re happy with the order, tap Save .

5. To upload a custom artwork or photo for the album cover, tap Change image under the current cover. Touch Choose photos or Take a picture . If you’re choosing a photo, tap to select an image from your Android’s photo library, then Use photos so Save .
