Gmail allows you to change the name associated with your email address. Your display name and email address will appear when you send an email from your Gmail account.

1. Go to gmail.com and log into your account by typing in your Gmail name and password.

2. Click the “Settings” button at the top right, represented by a cogwheel, then select “Settings” from the drop-down menu.

3. Awards “Accounts and Imports” from the top menu. (In some versions of Gmail, the card will simply be labeled “Account”.

4. Select “Edit info” next to “Send message as”.

5. A pop-up window will appear. Type your new name in the “Name” text box.

6. Awards “Save changes” to store the new name.

Sometimes, users may be told that “this setting cannot be changed for your account”. This can happen if a user has tried to change their name too many times in a short period, or if the account is a G Suite account and the administrator does not allow the name to be changed.
