TikTok can be used for all kinds of things, from lip-syncing cheating to absurd comedy. And, for some, there’s even the option to stream video directly from your phone.
Currently, you will need to have at least 1,000 followers to access the feature. And while the minimum age for TikTok in general is 13, you must be at least 16 to stream.
If you are over 18, people who see your live stream can also send you “virtual gifts”. It is a digital currency that can be turned into real money, even if the exchange rate is very low.
Assuming it meets all the criteria and the feature is available, however, it’s actually quite easy to start a live stream. Here are the steps you need to follow to start using the TikTok app for both iPhone and Android.
1. Open your TikTok app and log into your account if needed.
2. Tap the plus sign, located in the bottom center section of the screen.
4. Enter your livestream title, then select “Go Live” to get started.
If you don’t see the option to go live from the signup screen, your account has probably not yet met the requirements to access the live streaming feature.
