How to share a screen on Google Meet

You can share your screen at any time during a Google Meet video call. The Chrome browser has most of the options for sharing your screen, although you can also use Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.

  1. click on Submit now . It is located in the toolbar at the bottom.

  2. Select Whole Screen, One Window, or Chrome Tab from the pop-up menu.

  3. Then, select the Chrome window or tab you want to share. You can share an app window, such as Photoshop or Microsoft Excel, or a tab that shows a website or PDF.

    If you share a Chrome tab of a YouTube video, for example, deselect Share audio if you don’t want to broadcast audio.

  4. click on Share .

  5. To stop sharing, click You’re presenting > Stop Presentation .

Share your screen when someone else is presenting

You can present your screen during someone else’s presentation; theirs will stop.

  1. click on [Nome] is presenting .

  2. Select Full Screen, One Window, or the Chrome Tab.

  3. A pop-up will appear confirming that you want to take control of the presentation. click on Share now .

  4. click on Share .

Join a Google Meet just to introduce

If you’re presenting in a meeting but don’t need to otherwise join, you can join by sharing your screen only. You will not be in front of the camera; just your screen.

  1. Go to the site of Google Meet and click Presents .

  2. Select a window or application.

  3. click on Share .

How to share your screen in the Google Meet app

The process is similar on Android and iOS using the mobile app.

  1. Join the video call.

  2. Tap the screen and select the More menu (three vertical dots).

  3. Touch Share screen

  1. Touch Start sharing > Start now . ( Start transmission on iOS).

  2. To stop, tap Stop sharing .

Sharing your screen using a browser other than Chrome

In addition to Chrome, Google Meet supports Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. However, each browser has different options for presenting in Google Meet.

  • Full screen sharing is supported by Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari.
  • Sharing a window is supported by Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
  • Sharing a browser tab is supported by Chrome and Edge.
