How to share audio on Google Meet
Last year marked a massive transition to video calling applications like Google Meet and it looks like this transition is here to stay until the foreseeable future. Whether you are a teacher or a professional, the dangerous audio maneuvers required are incessant and annoying. Most of the time we start the call with a ‘Can you hear me’ rather than not.
Although some audio issues are on the recipient’s side, it can also be our fault leading to wasting a lot of time trying to get your audio correct.
Fortunately, you can prepare yourself for some aspects of the video call, especially if you’re introducing to avoid wasting time. So, when it comes to presenting audio in Google Meet, here’s everything you need to know.
How to present audio on Google Meet
You can present audio via both browser and phone. Follow these instructions to know how to proceed.
On the computer
Open the web browser on your PC and then visit meet.google.com . Click the button New meeting .
Select the option Start an instant meeting and start the meeting.
Click the button Participate now to join the meeting.
Now click the button Submit now and choose the source you want to present. For this tutorial, we will present one Chrome tab .
Select the board you want to share, then click the button Share .

Make sure the option Share audio bottom left has been enabled.
You can also re-adjust the audio once the slideshow has started. Enable / disable using the option Presentation audio .
On the phone (Android or iPhone)
Launch the Google Meet icon and tap on the option New meeting .
Now tap on the icon of the three-point menu bottom right once the meeting has started.
Now select the icon Share screen to start sharing your screen.
Touch Start sharing from the additional dialog.
Your phone will show a disclaimer that your phone will now be registered. Touch It begins now to start sharing your screen.
Once the meeting has started, tap the speaker icon at the top right of the screen.
Now touch the Speaker option and you will be able to share your audio during the meeting.
How to present audio ONLY in Google Meet
For both the browser and the phone, if you play the content without you wanting it and keep the microphone activated, the other meeting participants will be able to hear everything you want to convey well.
How to cast video and audio on screen to present audio in Google Meet
There is another way to share audio on Google Meet. This is specific to sharing a Chrome tab and is very useful for sharing clear YouTube audio with perfect clarity.
How to set up the cast function in Chrome
Click on the three-point menu at the top right of the Chrome browser.
When the icon of transmission appears in the extension queue, right-click the icon and then click Always show icon to keep the transmission icon visible.
Once the broadcast icon is in place, right click again and select the option Enable cloud services .
An additional dialog will be shown with the Enable button click the button.
Once the extension is ready, you can click the broadcast icon to share the audio in Google Meet. He will identify which link needs to be launched in the meeting and will present it directly to all other attendees.
