How to add a custom background on Google Meet
Method 1: before a meeting
Open your preferred browser and visit Google Meet. You can also use this link.
Now start or join a meeting as you normally would. Click the “Background” icon in the video preview once you are in the waiting screen.
Click and choose the photo you want to set as your virtual wallpaper. If you want to select a custom image, click “+” and add one from local storage.
The image should be automatically applied to your video feed. Depending on the background color and network speed, this may take a couple of seconds.
Method 2: during a meeting
Click the “3 dots” icon in the lower right corner of the screen during a meeting.
Now select “Change Wallpaper”.
You will now see a list of previously added stocks and backgrounds in the right sidebar. Click and select the one you want to use in the current meeting. You can also use a custom image by clicking on the “+” icon and selecting one from the local storage.
Once you click on the image, it should be automatically applied to the video feed. If you have too much background clutter or a slow network, Meet may take a few seconds to implement this change
