“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” post-credits scenes explained

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings features not one but two post-credits scenes.wonder

When all the martial arts action is done, there is a post-credits scene at the end of Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings ? Sure! Indeed, this latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe includes two post-credits scenes to anticipate the next adventure. Ready? Spoilers coming soon …

So what about those post-credits scenes? After saving the world at the end of the film, Shang-Chi is introduced to some familiar faces with the Avengers stars appearing for cameos (fittingly for 2021, this meeting features a sort of superhero Zoom call). Then, right at the end of the credits, another scene introduces a new boss for the film’s annoying ninja army.

Mid-credits scene of Shang-Chi

The credits scene basically continues at the end of the movie , when Shang-Chi and Katie followed Wong into a portal. The action resumes with Wong studying the rings, noting that the powerful objects do not resemble any of the artifacts recorded in the code.

The mandatory credit cameos come from Brie Larson and Mark Ruffalo as Captain Marvel and Bruce Banner. Banner’s arm is bandaged, so if this is the injury sustained from wearing the Power Gauntlet in Endgame, then we can date Shang-Chi as being set relatively soon after that movie. They may be two of the biggest brains in the Avengers, but both are baffled by the rings. They can at least infer that the mystical metal hoops are many thousands of years older than anyone thought.

Marvel then launches into some interplanetary affair, leaving Banner and Wong to officially introduce Shang-Chi and Katie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “There’s a long journey ahead of you,” warns Wong, or as Banner puts it, “Welcome to the circus.” All that remains is to conclude the deal with some karaoke and Wong enthusiastically joins a tour of the Eagles’ Hotel California.

Shang-Chi’s post-credits scene

After the credits comes the second scene. This time it is Xialing, played by Meng’er Zhang, who is the protagonist. We find her putting away childish things as she pulls down the posters covering her childhood bedroom. She is supposed to wrap up her father’s terror affairs, but instead take his throne and usher in a new era for organizing the Ten Rings. An era of graffiti and hip-hop, with Razor Fist joined by his old fight club aide and a new army of martial arts practitioners.

“Let’s get started,” Xialing says ominously. “We have a lot of work to do”.

The film ends with the caption: “The ten rings will return”. But now that they have new management, will they be friends or enemies for Shang-Chi and the Avengers?
