The “Amazon Prime Wardrobe” lands in Italy to try on clothes: this is how it works

Right now, emails from Amazon are arriving addressed to Prime subscribers to test in beta Amazon Prime Wardrobethe famous service dedicated to fashion that launches a gauntlet to stores such as Zalando and similar. The Prime wardrobe is free for Prime members and allows you to try on clothes at home before purchasing them. Users get 7 days after the last item arrives to try the items at home and you send back what you don’t want to keep.

An Amazon Prime membership gives you access to a range of exclusive benefits, including free two-day shipping on eligible items, entertainment options like movie and music streaming, and of course the ability to shop during Amazon Prime Day 2021 on June 21. -22.

What is the Prime wardrobe and how does it work?

Prime Wardrobe is a program for Prime members that allows you to try on clothes in the comfort of your own home before purchasing them.

Eligible items include women’s, men’s, children’s and children’s clothing, shoes and accessories lines. Select what you want to try (eligible items have a “Prime Wardrobe” logo) and once your box arrives, you have seven days to try the items on and send back what you don’t want to buy. You can try up to eight items at once, and there is no minimum dollar threshold.

Before the end of your seven day trial period, go to Your Orders to check and indicate which items you will keep and which you will return. You have until the end of the trial period to stamp your returns using the return label provided. For the more forgetful of us, Amazon will send you reminders along the way to make sure you don’t get charged. Find all the details here.

Does it cost anything?

In addition to the Prime membership, there are no additional costs for the Prime wardrobe – shipping and returns are both free. You will only be charged for what you keep. And if you later decide to return something you kept and bought, you still have a 30-day return window from the last day of the trial period.

What’s available on Prime Wardrobe?

Shoppers can find lesser-known labels and national names such as Levi’s, Calvin Klein, AIX Armani, Adidas, J Brand and Theory as part of Prime Wardrobe, and can choose from apparel, women’s, men’s, children’s and children’s shoes and accessories. There are affordable options, design options, and everything in between. Shop them by category here.

Prime Closet competes with similar services from companies like Nordstrom’s Tronco Club, and inventive start-ups like Rent the Runway and Stitch Fix, except that you don’t have to pay a fee for every box you receive or spend extra money on a subscription to the service (assuming you already have Prime). But if what you need is for someone to find the right clothes for you, you can pay $ 4.99 a month for a curated version of Prime Wardrobe’s styling called the Personal Shopper.

Why is Prime Wardrobe a great shopping trick?

Prime Wardrobe simply makes it much easier to shop online by letting you try on clothes and shoes before committing, all at no extra cost. What looks great in 2D isn’t always perfect, and the return processes can be hateful or difficult to do properly. But many of us continue to shop online in bulk because the in-person shopping experience is so long and unbearable for many. To keep online shopping convenient, more and more services with “try before you buy” policies are popping up, as well as subscription services that help take some of the angst out of updating your wardrobe.

Amazon Wardrobe is no different, and unlike many alternatives, it doesn’t cost extra with your Prime membership.
