The MCU has expanded into unknown territories. From multiple media in one cohesive universe, Marvel Studios have outdone themselves. The vastness of the narrative in the MCU is reminiscent of one of the most brilliantly curated development arcs. The protagonist is powerful and somehow the plot continues to freshen up.
Get the new What if …? series for example. As soon as Strange Supreme was unveiled to the public, Shang-Chi has launched mystical beasts at us. It’s things like this that keep us in suspense. The next OTT series in the MCU lineup is She-Hulk. Although Jameela Jamil has already been revealed as Titania, we think She-Hulk’s real villain will be someone much more familiar.
Before you say it, it certainly isn’t the Abomination. Yes, Tim Roth will return as Emil Blonsky in She-Hulk , and he was the bad guy in the past. But the appearance of him in Shang-Chi has showed a clear change in attitude. Maybe we could get a nice fight sequence with the Abomination posing as a temporary antagonist. But he will certainly not be the main antagonist as I suspect he will be prepared for the Thunderbolts through She-Hulk. He had become another anti-hero of the MCU. Now that we’ve cleared this up, let’s talk about Titania.
For the uninitiated, it has already been revealed that Titania will be a part of She-Hulk. From the comics, Titania is the only candidate who has ever beaten She-Hulk in a force fight. She was a bony reading head who was often bullied. That was until her high school collided with other realities and they were transported to Battleworld. Several things happened and Titania found herself at the mercy of Doctor Doom. Since she was the king of this version of Secret Wars Battleworld, he decided to subjugate the girl. He offered Mary Mcpherson and her friend Marsha Rosenburg powers in exchange for loyalty.
The girls agreed and then we were transmuted into metahumans by the hands of Doom himself. Doom is not a kind overlord. His actions are his. The girls slowly came to their senses and discovered that Marsha had psionic plasma while Mary was blessed with fearsome stature and unmatched strength. She went by the name of Titania and adopted a more brazen attitude. The attitude was more than just a spectacle that became clear in her future struggles.
The main villain
Titania battled and surprised some of the most powerful Avengers in her first outing, even decimating the God of Thunder. But her greatest achievement to date remains the victory over She-Hulk. Jennifer Walters lost to her in a direct battle, a trope that has been repeated multiple times in the comics. She was even given the Infinity Stone of Power just to make the sphere look imposing. You can understand why Marvel would have chosen a character as She-Hulk’s main villain. Titania is the opposite of her, almost like her kryptonite.
However, we propose that there is another bad secret hidden in the shadows and you already know who it is. The revelation is so trivial that I wrote half of the post without talking about it. But let me break it down for you. The character I propose as the real villain of She-Hulk it is none other than the leader. This is the villain teased at the end of The Incredible Hulk . When Sterns becomes infected with Bruce’s blood, he is seen smiling as he passes out and the blood enters his brain. This means that the gamma mutation will start in the brain and transform it into the Hulk villain called The Leader.
The Leader is highly intelligent and is also responsible for much of the experimentation that has created many gamma mutants like the Hulk in the comics, most notably, Red Hulk. The leader pioneered General Thunderbolt Ross and created the Red Hulk to fight the Incredible Hulk. We all suspected Ross had been up to something over the years. Perhaps he has always worked with the giant headed Samuel Stern. That’s why we don’t see it from the second MCU movie. I guess we will see it.
The real bad
As the Thunderbolts are suspected to be a future franchise in the MCU, it has become even more likely that the leader will show up in the MCU, or at least be teased as the man behind the shadows. There is another theory floating around which suggests that the leader will be one who will perform experiments on Jen Walters and create She-Hulk. This could be the change to its origin story we expected. However, not much is known about the history of She-Hulk . But Titania cannot be the only threat looming in the dark, there must be more to the story, there is always. This is Marvel, after all.
In the comics, Titania is eventually defeated by Spider-Man. Although she is a very powerful villain, Spider-Man has always been too fast for her sake. This is how Peter survived fighting alongside Gods. While we may never see this piece live, it’s still one of the most iconic fights in the comics. So what do you think of this theory?
