In today’s virtual meetings held via video and audio software, that same courtesy of raising your hand before speaking that you learned in your youth still applies.
When using Zoom to join a remote meeting, the “Raise your hand” feature is the best way to make sure you have your say without having to stop the meeting midway through.
It simply puts a small hand icon next to your username and lets meeting managers know that you have a question, input, or otherwise need attention whenever possible.
Here’s how to raise your hand in Zoom.
How to raise your hand in Zoom
1. During a meeting, click on the “Attendees” icon at the bottom center of the screen
2. At the bottom of the window on the right side of the screen, click the “Raise your hand” button.
Your digital hand is now raised. Lower it by clicking on the same button, now called “Lower Hand”.
The same method can be used to raise your hand in a Zoom meeting on a mobile device, just tap “Raise your hand” in the lower left corner of the screen. The hand icon will turn blue and the text below it will change to say “Lower your hand” while your hand is raised.
